Just curious.

Get it right...the right way to word it is...

"I wonder what Paul Erdos' Sklansky number is?"

Has he published anything? Can't find him on MathSciNet.

If the Erdos number were defined for physicists, mine would be 4. (not to imply that anyone should care, of course)

For anyone ignorant like me:

I think Kevin Bacon needs to write a mathematical article. No one will ever be bored again.

I am not myself a mathematician. I found out about the Erdos number by checking the home page of an old girlfriend (so sue me) who is now a mathematics professor. She has an Erdos number of 3.

I think I'd rather keep my anonymity on this forum. It's obviously not important -- just a byproduct of studying with a mathematician at one point. But it's still kind of a fun fact.

Hmm. I wonder if this means that I have an Erdos Number of 4 since we, uh, "collaborated."

Then I guess that makes me a very soar 5. Thanks again, Boro. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Glad to be of service.

My Erdos number is 4.
And yes, it applies to physics too, and if you collaboarated with someone who is a 4, that makes you a 5 (assuming you don't have another path to a smaller number).
