Villain is 17/14 with AF of 6.5 and WTSD 17% over 850 hands.
In hindsight I believe check raising the turn is best, comment on this and as played please.

Edit: If you dont know this move its pretty standard to do this with something like 88 or KK here expecting villain to never fold an A.

I would raise on the flop.

Why? To me we are either WA/WB on the flop and given that we are OOP against a decent villain keeping the pot small is quite a good option.

Edit: If villain is behind he is drawing to 2-3 outs at most.

very tough spot to be in ... check raise would pot commit you almost (assuming he bets 9 on the turn and you making it around 25). As played I'd actually probably call against average person, since A10, and AJ are in range for opening 5 handed, (and if they have 88/kk I still have 6 - 7 outs). If you read that he is a tricky player, and would make that move with 88 or KK, then good fold.

Check-call flop is good. I think folding here is fine.

I'm fine folding here.

seems like a standard fold here. Villain's description enforces that even more.

Fold preflop (!).
