Hi guys. I've been having a bit of a problem crushing NL10 lately, its my first deposit since the summer (only $25 so im underrolled for nl10, but its the lowest stakes on my site) and im hoping you guys can take a look at my hands and tell me how i should have played them.

I am playing break-even poker, getting my $25 upto $60.. dropping down to $15 (jumping to nl25 was a stupid idea with my roll), back up to $30.. and so on.. its really frustrating.

p.s I am buying in for $5 at these tables as im not rolled to buyin for $10.

I would split them up into separate posts in teh future, you'll get more depth of reply for each hand.

Hand 1, you should bet more on the flop and turn. I tend to fold where there is a one liner to a straight, so I would fold river.

Hand 2, again your bet size on the flop is too small. So when a guy raises you you don't know if it's because he has a hand or is sensing weakness and taking you off your hand. As played, I would call both turn and river bets since they are so small.

Hand 3, raise him on the flop to $2. Fold river.

Hand 4, bet more on turn, say 3/4 pot. His raise again could be a strong hand or him sensing weakness, I would call and see what develops on the river.

Hand 5 looks fine.

Buy in for the maximum; get a bigger roll or change sites if that's what it takes.

Hand 1
Preflop: Raise to 4xBB
Flop: Pot the flop. You're most often good here but AQ's and AJ's may be lurking around. You have a gutshot to the nuts in addition to TPTK. By betting small you make it harder to play the later streets, especially when the boards starts to straighten.

Hand 2
Flop: Check the flop. There are 3 opponents and a good chance you're dominated. Think about how much are you willing to lose with this hand. If you want to play this, lead for a full pot. If you're raised, just fold and concentrate on the next hand.

Hand 3
Preflop: Raise a little more, 4xBB + 1xBB per limper.
Flop: Definately raise the flop, to about $2 - $2.5. Villain's bet seems like a pocket pair JJ-55 or a straight draw with an Ace. Better take the lead here. If you get raised, it gives you more information where you stand.

Hand 4
Preflop: Always raise AJs UTG, especially 4-handed.
Flop: OK; maybe bet the full pot.
Turn: You get check-raised on the turn which is most often a sign of at least two pair, often a set or better. I'd fold this turn. That said, you still need to bet bigger on the turn because you'll get called with a lesser J and a lot of draws. This is an unraised pot so he may have anything.

Hand 5
Preflop: Good.
Flop: The flop call with 3rd pair is marginal, depending on the eagerness of SB to bet into PFR with air. He could have a flush draw or any other piece of the flop.
Turn: He overbets the pot after betting small on the flop (with a draw?). If he was drawing to the flush he's now got it; in which case you'd still have 10 cards with which to suck out. He's got so little behind that I'd just push the rest of his chips in.

Looking at the hands that you showed, YOU DON'T BET ENOUGH! You play a rather passive type of poker in which you are tiptoeing through the hands attempting to avoid any mines and your opponents seem to pick up on it. In each hand, you want to have a CONVERSATION with you opponents through your betting. First hand for example, you should have bet more like .50-.75 at the least. Than on the turn, your bet should've read,"I have a real hand, go away!" with a $1.00-1.50 bet. From there, you need to figure out where you are in the hand. Your bets should DEFINE your hand. In the micro games, your opponents will pay you off with all kinds of crap hands, including Ax small. So full steam ahead on the hands.
