Villain was new at the table so no reads. Hadn't been getting good action with big hands so played it a little slower than I normally would (normal raise would be to $2 + 3-bet...) I didn't expect button to call preflop, but we went to the flop 3-way and then boom!

Well, obviously, that's how I'd usually play it as I said above. Any comments on the flop?

On the flop you have an overpair and the nut flush draw, as well as a backdoor straight. Against an unknown I'd call.

Ick, assuming BB is a somewhat decent player, I'm thinking his range is KK, QQ, the other two aces, and *maybe* an overzealous AK (prehaps that's thinking optimistically??)

It's probably close to even money, so if you can handle the variance, gamboooooool.

Afterburner call.

Well you hacve a little bit over 1/3 equity if we are putting him on KK/QQ (which is hard not to) and you are paying $42 into a $65 pot so it's a slight bit negative ev (kinda close, i didnt do the real math)...if there is any chance he is bluffing or if you think the button may come along, it's ez. Seems to be an "I likes to gambol!" kind of pot. You feelin lucky?

I never don't reraise in that spot anymore. (but you don't wanna hear that, sorry)

I rarely 4-bet pre w/ aces these days. I think the call is fine, and this is an insta-call on the flop.

What else does hero beat here besides TPTK? His reraising range probably isn't all that big and most of the hands he could have setted up.

i think a fold may be correct here, but i'm a donk and never fold

Vamm -

We crush AK and have lots of equity against sets. When we're behind we're never very far behind and when we're ahead we're way ahead.
