I know I would have been better off folding this preflop. Anyhow, for the last 5 orbits every hand I've played I've been raising preflop, but the table is catching on, as I've been showing weaker holdings, so I decide to limp here.

No stats on the villian, but he's weak-tight like the rest of the table. He hasn't shown any aggression at all. I figure I'm beat at the river. I guess when he called my bet on the turn alarm bells should have gone off. Or am I over reacting?

Against this type of player, is checking behind on the river a better play?

Never.

You have the 2nd nuts, extract as much value as possible. If villain had AJ so be it, but he might also have KQ/KT/QT/44, etc. Call the push.

I'm folding the flop, but cetainly not hearing alarm bells on the turn, only one hand beats you.

Lot of cards you don't want to see on the river, raise the turn a bit more, $2.80-$3

I'm betting more on the river...no way am I putting the clown on AJ, he plays the same with trips or 2 pair. Lose and curse, but bet.

A table full of weak-tighties? I think fold>>raise>>>>call preflop. Fold flop. Turn is ok, maybe raise slightly more. Lead river bigger, snapcall the shove.

Definately call the river here. Your river bet looked good enough to get picked off by alot of hands, and I dont think AJ over bets that much, and would want some value. Villan prob has top 2 or set here enough times, compared to the AJ.
