meh, if you're gonna bet the turn, bet a bit more. He's not folding a Q to a 1/2 PSB.

Normally against a passive villain, I give this up after the flop.

depending on his stats, most of the time i give up after the flop.

He played it passively, which is what most passive villain's do. He had no clue why you bet twice when he had top pair, and he probably thought you were trapping on the river, which is why he checked behind.
