I don't have a read on villain, so I assume loose/weak calling station that can't release draws.

Should I bet the river for value, or check to induce a bluff?

I think a lead here is completely fine, what exactly are you afraid of here, if you get raised, you can reassess but i think betting out about $4 is bueno.

I'm not afraid of anything. I'm 99% sure I have the best hand. I'm just wondering how to get the most value. Is it likely that villain will call a river bet, seeing as his line screams "failed draw"?

against a calling station, I bet, and hope they picked up a weak pair while chasing a draw.

against an aggro-monkey, check to induce.

As played, seeing as our villain open limped on the button, I'm thnking he's a weakish player, so I'm value betting like $2-3.

Fire away. I'd make it 4-6, whatever I'd feel he will call.

As you dont have a read, its difficult in that if hes an agressive player, its worth a check to see if he bets at you. A calling station is likely to just check isnt he?

50/50 either for a check or a bet, I think either is fine.

Amen, I heartily agree. We should always play straight forward ABC poker when we're readless.

Anyways, I bet about $3 and he folded. No biggie.
