You are OOP. He has a smallish stack. I don't like wrestling here. My experience with these 50bb buyiners is that they squat around waiting for a big hand and usually play it very fast.

But my main concerns are:

Lousy position
Weak hand

Fold to push..

I would call preflop since villain is a shortie. Reraising him makes this AI thing happen alot.

In the small stakes section in this thread:

people are talking about 3 betting AJo out of small blind to a button open raise.

Is this a matter of stakes or because this guy only has half a buy in?

For me, at least, re-raising light is based on history/reads

I think a reraise here is for two purposes. First, to give a bloody nose to a BTN that raises light...if you have that read then a raise here is obligatory. Second, once the raises becomes a significant % of the stacks then BTN's positional advantage is reduced.

These two together make a raise here OK against an unknown but not obligatory. With AJo here I think I would just call PF. I fold the AI.

reraising AJo from SB is done when button opens a really wide range. Some of the guys at the higher levels play something like 40% of their hands from button. Thats a huge range, and most of it probably can't call a reraise.

RRing this hand PF is lameo due to stack sizes.
