What do you people think of this semi-bluff? Is the check-raise in this situation a good idea?

Also was the river push good or bad?

1. buy in for full
2. I either check the turn or bet a bit more than what you did

Please bet at least 1.20 on the turn. The guy probably doesn't realize he shouldn't call with a draw there (which is why your betting, to chase out better draws and one pair hands).

At 10NL I very infrequently semibluff the turn.

I would like a full buyin before attempting to semi-bluff at NL10. If we're betting the turn, I like at least a $1, but given our stack size, I'm not too crazy about betting the turn. As played, we hit our hand and have a hair over a pot-sized bet, so river play is perfect.

I just check call the flop, your hand isn't strong enough to try and bet 3-bet all-in and such a small check raise here does not acomplish anything. Most of the players at this level will not properly size their bets and will give you the correct odds to call all the way with your FD so I don't think its a good idea to check raise here.

And your turn bet doesn't do anything, the J isn't a scare card if he called you with a K, and if he called you with any other pair or draw hes not going to fold for the same amount you check raised on the flop.

The river is just standard.

Only 9 outs (and none to the nuts) isn't that strong of a draw.

Oh, and buy in for full.

your semi bluffs are a large portion of you stack... no way bet the turn call a small bet... calling a CR means a hand... i guess as played AI on river. id like a suck bet more... a small but not meaningless bet since you are far from the nuts... NLHTP says AI with the NUTS is +EV but a nut flush draw might play this way.
