I know of one site that is referring props to poker sites (http://onlinepropping.com/). There is at least one other but I can't remember the URL right now.

What kind of info do you want? Usually you get about 100-120% rakeback and have to play a lot of short-handed and HU games. Not a bad deal but depends on what you like. I get bored with it sometimes because I'd rather be 3-tabling FR games than 1 or 2-tabling short games.

what stakes do you need to play at to prop? is this something that lower stakes NL players can do or is it geared more towards mid-level players?

There are a lot of sites that need $10-$50 NL players. Keep in mind you will often play short handed.

Here are the prop websites I know.

www.onlinepropping.com (http://www.onlinepropping.com)
www.madpokerprops.com (http://www.madpokerprops.com)
www.parttimepoker.com (http://www.parttimepoker.com)
www.premierpokerprops.com (http://www.premierpokerprops.com)

There are many others but I know all of those well.

I wrote this article back when I owned RRR

http://www.rakerebatereview.com/prop.asp

A lot of props or interested props have told me it is a good article that helped them so you may be interested.

(Mods: I no longer have anything to do with that site or even the rights to the article so I hope you do not see it as spam.)

Most sites that I've seen look for $1/2 NL and above or $3/6 FL and above. Some have started expanding to Omaha and other games as well since there's a market for them.

The smaller rooms do not care what you play as long as you play. The middle rooms often require props to play games that rake higher or have little interest to try and get games in those limits higher then micros. There are certainly many rooms that will let you play as little as $10 NL, they will just be small rooms.

Hi Pokeraddict,

When you say $10NL do you mean $0.05/$0.10 blinds NL? That seems too low - what would a site pay for someone to prop at that level? (And what sites do so?)

Or did you mean blinds of $5/$10 & I've just got it wrong?

cheers

Your pay is usually just a refund of your share of the rake. Some of the smaller rooms pay up to 120% of your share (sometimes higher). Te pay at $10NL isn't going to amount to much.

Unless you suck playing in a full game am I wrong to assume that it makes more sense to just play at a big site with 25-35% rakeback? I don't see how 100% rakeback can make up for zero table selection, having to leave any good games you stumble upon, risk of site going under and losing your roll there, ect.

The sites I looked at quoted $15 an hour for short handed 3/6 limit. That's about 2.5BB/100. Assuming you can break even with play that's not bad, but you should be able to make that at FT or wherever + 27% RB on top. Not to mention I bet some of the small prop sites would rarely have 4+ games for you to even play.

Thoughts?

It's much better for higher stakes players. I liked it for a bit, but got a little bored with it since the speed of the short handed games made it difficult for me to multi-table at other sites at the same time.
