[ QUOTE ]
The [PPA] released the results of an automated telephone survey of 1,033 voters in Leach's congressional district conducted Monday and Tuesday by RT Strategies.

While one in 10 cited Leach's stand against Internet gambling as a strong influence in their vote for him, a greater proportion, nearly one in seven, cited it as a strong reason to vote for his opponent, Democrat Dave Loebsack, a political science professor.

‘‘This was an awful close race,'' said pollster Thomas Riehle of RT Strategies. ‘‘It looks like on balance, Leach's position on Internet gambling hurt him more than it helped him.''

I knew degenerates outnumbered the church ladies.

Degenerates are just less likely to vote - until you f-ck with their cash flow.

This is interesting. The race was 107,097 to 101,139 to defeat Leach.

Depending on the likelihood to vote and party affiliation before and after UIGEA, it is within the realm of possibility that this swung this particular race.

I wonder what Jim Leach would choose, of course a complete hypothetical:

1. UIGEA passing and losing seat
2. UIGEA not passing and keeping seat

I have a "feeling" he'd choose 2.
