This is from 25 NL pokerstars last night. Villain in this hand has a VPIP of 70% PFR of 27% through about 50 hands at this point. He plays passively on the flop and turn in most hands and then gets very aggressive on the river. Sometimes he has something, sometimes hes bluffing no real rhyme or reason to it. Just looking for some advice on this hand

Only a 2x pot bet. I'm sure if you poker stove all SIX hands that beat you, you'll find that you're a vast favorite against his range.

Just ask yourself what percentage of the time you believe he is bluffing in this situation. If the answer is anywhere near 50 its an easy call because of the money already in the pot before his push. Now you have to consider how many different hands he might make this play with legitimately. QT sounds like a good possiblility. So does Q9 or T9. You've got to be winning here often enough to make this cal.

Going with Your read on him, You have to call this every time. If You lost, You were very unlucky, if Your read was correct.

With Your read on this player, I would try to destroy his playing rhythm. He wants to play small pots on the flop and on the turn and then he bullies on the river.

I would sometimes throw in huge overbets and I would reraise him occasionally, though in this hand it's not possible. You hit a set here and I would use this and throw in an overbet to see how he reacts. Try to push people out of their comfort zone, make them feel uncomfortable and then take their entire stack. If such a player would sit at my table, my whole thinking would be focused on how can I earn this guys entire stack. Nothing else matters any more!
