What's the difference between American, French & Russian roulette?

I noticed that roulette is prohibited from wager requirements at most casinos, but at most of those casinos that offer Sticky bonuses (i.e. Challenge, Tropez), American Roulette is eligible and counts as 100%! Would it be optimal to clear the bonus by playing American Roulette and just betting on red or black or even and odd? Seems easy to me.....unless I'm missing something

American Roulette has two zeros, resulting in a house edge of 2/38 = 5.3%. French Roulette has one zero and returns half your bet if the zero hits, resulting in a house edge of 1/74 = 1.35%. Isn't Russian Roulette where two people spin a loaded gun with one bullet in it and attempt a shot at themselves until the bullet is hit? I don't recommend using this game to clear bonuses. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Also, betting on a 49.5/49.5 layout (like one dollar on red, one on black) is usually frowned upon, even though it doesn't actually have any effect on EV.
