I would bet 1/2 pot for value and hope he pushes.

Value bet. I think the only way you get him to bet is if he is holding Ks as part of his flush chase.

now you mention it, checking to induce a bluff makes sense. he could well 'value' bet himself with a lesser A if you check it to him too.
