Looks like the future at the Cryptos is going to be raked. From their website:

Then you can forget about playing for 5 hours to earn your £25! From now on, play whenever and for however long you like - just make sure you play!

As soon as you've played your 200th raked hand this month, £25 CASH will be automatically credited to your account.

When will UKBetting and William Hill follow suit? At least it is a 5 to 6 times playthrough only.

Hmmm I wonder if UK betting did this, and didn't announce it yet. I played a couple of hours last night, and didn't receive any hourly bonus.

i kind of like it, its the only place that I work on my shorthanded game at 2/4

otherwise i play higher limits of full ring, so this is making me work on my short game /images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you look on the page on totalbet where it explains this they mistakenly refer to themselves as ukbet in one part.

Like he said they are the same company and they run the same promotions. It's just nice that you can dip into the bonus twice.

This could be better for the games though at crypto, there are too many people who cant play poker and were just abusing the $1/$2 game, trying to stick to as close to 0EV as possible just to get the bonus. That's really bad for the type of games you will find there. (and the more time they spend the more players you will find which means better table selection, etc....)

Seems so.

Got an email from them

'Starting 1 February 2006, when you play at the ukbetting poker rooms you could be rewarded with £25 Cash!

To quaify for your £25, simply play 200 raked hands between now and 28 Feb (24:00 GMT) and your account will automatically be credited with £25.'

Anyone know if the 200 raked hands are going to be counted the same way as they are on Inter and others?

i.e. rake >= 1 unit = 1 raked, rake of .25 to .99 = .25 raked

From the TC:
IMPORTANT: So that we can reward you with your £25 as soon as possible, please note that in order for a raked hand to count towards your total, the hand must have generated 1.00 or more in rake. However, if you prefer playing at lower limit tables and your rake for a particular hand is between 0.25 and 0.99 (£/$/¿) you will earn 1/4 of a 'raked hand', which will count toward your monthly total.

I think this is goodbye to most of the cryptos.....

Interpoker is now the only one and that gets done by BJ/Pontoon...

Will Hill/Ritz Club will still be done but the 200 raked hands just take tooooooo long.....

Littlewoods / PokerPlex / TotalBet / UKBetting / Caribbean Sun (SunPoker) / Interpoker = Raked hands

Ritz Club / Will Hill = £25 for 5 hrs....

er at the $100 NL 6 max tables a $45 bonus will take 800 played hands to clear (assuming 70 hands/hr about 11.5hrs total table time

That's more like a 17x bonus and so yes it does suck.
Especially as before on those same tables it cleared after 5 hours before.

No real reason to play at Cryptos now - network wide a 17x bonus is just about the worst offer out there (except maybe party and stars) and the games aren't particularly soft (and the tables an annoying size for 4 tabling)

er all you have to do is move up one limit and it magically becomes a 5x. can you not improve?

All of these crypto sites get on my nerves with their $1 raked hand requirement.

I played $2/4 shorthanded with a little $1/2 at sunpoker last month and it took a while to clear.

Those 1/4 points don't add up very fast...

Doesn't bankroll size affect what level you play on too? Besides, if everywhere else offers softer games with a nice bonus, why bother playing better games for a worse one in terms of percentage risked/bonus amount?

I think we should bombard the various Cryptos with the idea that a new bonus level is needed, namely giving 1/2 point for a rake of .50 to .99. This would make a difference at the 1/2 level for bonus clearers, and is still consistent with the sites' bonus methodology.

Need an update...

Can anyone confirm that UKbetting has also gone to the raked hand concept like Total has, or is the hourly still working?

Thanks

Both of them *claim* to have gone to raked hands - but as of yesterday at least they were still both paying out the hourly bonuses. Rumour has it they also then payout the raked hand bonus as well. Seems they added the new bonus but forgot to disable the old one.
