They closed my BetHoldem account today. They said that bodog does not allow Canadian players. So my account is supposedly being transfered to Bowmans?

I'm curious about rakeback as well, no word..

This is very good but also confusing news. I am sure the e-mail that comes out later today will explain everything in greater detail. I am just glad that we don't have to wait till 2007 to get our funds.

I just hope it's not one of these buyouts where they are forcing us to roll over the amount 3-5x before we can cash out.

I can't imagine Bodog being involved in something like that.

But honestly it would have been a small price for getting your money out of this situation. Before Bodog got involved I doubt the frozen U.S. BetHoldem funds had an EV higher than $0.50 per dollar. Betcorp admitted to a shortfall of several million dollars and there were rumors that they would not even payout what they had.

People don't understand how lucky they got. Everyone needs to see past the "lucky river card" and realize what a bad spot this was. Otherwise no one will learn anything.

No rollover requirements for our old balances, but there is a minimum play requirement for the 10% bonus they are giving everyone.

I did run into a glitch when I logged in to my new Bodog account this morning. Bodog site said my account was locked and I would have to fax bank or credit card verification. I called customer service, and they said that I DO NOT need to do this. The problem is that I had an old Bodog account, and they are merging them. This is supposed to take place within 24 hours, and then I was told that I will be able to log into my old Bodog account to withdraw.

So if you get this "account locked" message at Bodog, don't bother with the verification fax, just call customer service and they said they will expedite the account merge process.

Note from BetHoldem:
Important information for Canadian CyberSportsBook.com customers

We are pleased to announce that on the morning of November 15th 2006, the
shareholders of Betcorp Limited approved the final sale of it's operating
subsidiaries to Bodog Entertainment Group SA. However, because Bodog does
not operate within Canada, all Canadian customers will now receive their
service from Bowmans.com. In choosing where to send Canadian clients, Bodog
looked for a site with similar products, a reputation for great service and
a long history in Canada. Bowman's was the natural choice and we know you
will be in good hands.

Bowman's notice:
Important Notice

We’d like to welcome you as a new member of Bowmans.com! For your convenience, all your account details are being migrated to Bowmans.com. We appreciate these changes may come as a surprise to you, but we hope you will enjoy all the great benefits of becoming a Bowmans customer!

All you have to do to get started at Bowmans.com and receive a 10% free bonus on your account balance is login. We will send you an email with all the information required. As it takes a little time to reward everyone with the 10% free bonus we hope you will bare with us while our site is upgraded for account maintenance.

We’ll be back on line after 11:00 AM PST and then you will be able to log straight in at Bowmans.com.

In the meantime if you’d like to read some more about our services and security, please click here.

I haven't received one.

I logged onto BetHoldem and accessed the bank. That page provided my new Bodog account number and a link to a Bodog transition webpage. Your new password is your BetHoldem password with lower case letters converted to upper case. Digits and other characters are unchanged. Don't know why this happened as Bodog passwords can include lower case.

My new account was locked because I already have a Bodog account. Called the 800-number and they quickly arranged to transfer my BetHoldem funds into my old Bodog account including the standard 10% Bodog bonus on all deposits.

I'm very happy right now. Thanks, Bodog.
