(warning: this is beginner stuff, but maybe one or two people will benefit; hopefully my post is error-free)

You are reraised preflop.

Automatically you should put the reraiser on a range: AA/KK is a good range at the micros (you can add QQ/JJ and AK, but we'll just stick with AA/KK since it's the situation you'll be facing most of the time).

Flop is K87. You hold 87s and you know the reraiser will get his stack in with AA/KK here every time.

Should you get your stack in?

Yes.

When assigning a range preflop, use card combinations on the flop.

Combinations are simple to apply:

There are 6 combos for any pocket pair.
There are 16 combos for AK or any other unpaired hole cards.

But if one of the cards that you assigned to the opponent's range is on the flop, then:

There are 3 combos for a pocket pair that has flopped a set.
There are 12 combos for AK/other non-pockets have made a pair on the flop.

So, with the K87 example above, because there is a K on the flop, there are 3 ways he can have KK and 6 ways that he can have AA.

Thus, it is 2 to 1 that your two pair is the best.
