you know, as a semi-addict of npr & news publications, i can't help but wonder if politics and news are random, ill conceived outcomes of collective (and, possibly well meaning) human desires and actions or represent some hint as to some grander scheme orchestrated by groups desiring some ultimate beneficial objective. surely, we are not as stupid and base as we appear to be...or, are we? consider war, famine and disease in the modern world. one would think there is no (or limited need) for these things. yet, they thrive. why? i guess it's my hope that they exist as part of a planned sacrifice for something better in the future. but, it's my fear they exist because we (humans) are too flawed to prevent them...

<chuckles>

Does it matter, OP? If the reasoning is to improve the overall quality of life for people...

Illuminati, after all, roughly translates to light or enlightenment, depending on your POV.

If it still bothers you, get lithium. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Imagine the logistics of making this possible for over 6 billion people that keep expanding, and such an oversight may very well be a necessity, even if it is a redundant one.

I'm really not sure why we all bothered replying to this thread.

Obviously OP has already been 'dealt with' and won't be responding in this thread any further.

maybe i don't know proper thread etiquette. but, it does bother me all the waste in the world (the death, the poverty, the ignorance). i don't desire lithium. i didn't say i was unhappy. i would like to believe (if possible) that all the suffering (somehow) is beneficial...

<shrugs> Talk to a BDSM top, ask her what she thinks about that. She'll explain it better than I can.

Conspiracy theodicy.

Perhaps we have to accept suffering before we can learn to value it. There's the rub.
