Villian just sat down at the table so no reads. How is my line? I wasn't sure if I should make a blocking bet on the river.

On the river, should I just check/call a small bet or should I be trying to make a blocking bet?

Note: BB has $32 left on the river.

Preflop I would've raised to $2.50 (4xBB + 1/limper). And I would've bet a $1 more on the flop.

Villain either has a 9 or a flushdraw, IMO. Or he is slowplaying a straight he made on the turn.

If he has a 9, I think he would've raised you on the turn. So chances are he's on a flushdraw. He wouldn't have called a bet in that case, so let him bluff his missed draw. I would've called his bet too...

I raise more preflop and pot flop. Turn is good. I usually c/c river to induce a bluff from a spade draw or whatever. I don't really know about a blocking bet, it would practically have to be an all-in and that's not exactly blocking.

Raise to $2.5 pf, pot flop. Otherwise good. I check river to induce a bluff from the spade draw that didn't get there / TT etc.

So you guys would call an all in bet on the river? It seems like when I check the river I am telling the villian I don't have a 9.
