<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises to $3</font>, <font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $4.35

Villain was 14/9 over 140 hands. I didn't see much upside to continuing the hand, as his range is surely tight against an UTG open. He'd probably fold TT-QQ on a flop w/ an A/K, and I'd be in trouble w/ TPTK if he had AA/KK. Standard?

I would call, and then reevaluate on the flop.

I don't think this is standard. Are you saying you will only play AA or KK against this villain? What if he reraises you when you hold KK? Are you going to fold? Call his RR and fire at the flop if there is an A or K. You can play passively on a non A-K flop if you want, but this is never a fold for me.

Yeah, I guess getting over 2:1, this is a pretty bad fold. Even if I just won the pot when an ace or king flopped, that would be worth it. My SNG side is always hesitant to put me in situations where I might have to make a tough decision post-flop.

I think this is a pretty trivial fold. Unless you have a killer read or you suspect that villainīs range here is pretty wide. Otherwise you are paying $2 for one of 3 sweet scenarios:

1. You miss and cf
2. You hit and cc and get what is in the pot + a probable cb
3. You hit and lose a boatload of money to aa or a set

All for the facile price of $2, how can you lose?
