This may be simple. I assume I can't fold the flop getting over 4:1.

Why can you not fold the flop? You will get top pair or better on the river ~3.1 but that means you will have ace high ~75% of the time at the river. The pot is 3.75, he has raised another 1.5 so 6.75. If you add in his .65 the pot is 7.40 and you need to put in 2.15 so your true odds to showdown are 3.44:1 Unless I have a specific read here I think the odds dictate a call.

Edited: because math is a second language

Eh, the actual problem is not calling or not calling here. Looking at his stack size you must either c/f or push this flop. I doubt he is folding this so I would just c/f. As played this is an easy call.

So if I'm reading you right, you think my plan is good, or do you prefer I check the flop and fold to a reasonable bet?

I think as played, push the flop. When you chose to c-bet, you should have realized any call on his part would make him pot committed so you should have bet it that way by leading with a push. If he called the $1.50 you bet on the flop, the pot would be more than twice his remaining stack so he is likely to never fold. So your flop action should not have included a c-bet of 1.50, it should have been a check or push.
