help me settle this air hockey prop bet

i have a couple questions regarding air hockey, google and wiki didn't help me much
1) on a good table, is the puck floating entirely off the surface, even when it is moving from one end to the other, or is it touching down once in a while?
2) is there friction acting on the puck as it moves across the table?

1. I hope you know this question has nothing to do with #2, but judging by the sound of plastic on plastic scraping, yes the puck does touch the table.
2. Of course there is friction. Even if it didn't touch the table, there would be friction on the puck from the air.

2) yes..even if it didn't touch the table at all, there is still friction with the air
