Villian is pretty donkish, tries to be tricky but is actually pretty obvious, but he doesn't put a lot of money in as bluffs. I'd been playing TAG, raising the button a lot. Villian is UTG and limps, 1 limper behind him and I raise 5.5x the BB with JJ. Folded to villian who re-raises another $1 on top. (I have $11 more, he has more than me.) After thinking for a while, I call. Flop comes Q22. He leads out for a pot-sized bet.

Push or fold?

I would say fold and wait for a better spot against this guy. Your note that "he doesn't put a lot of money in as bluffs" helps here.

If he's pulling this with TT (or worse), so be it.

I'm interested in seeing other responses.

I really don't like the limp-raise move because you don't give him as much credit. He still could be holding high pocketpairs here easily.

I do this sometimes as well with AA/KK. I limp in EP if I know there is bound to be a raise and then come over the top. Makes 'em wonder big time, it's a nice play I think.

You probably minraise too.

villain is an idiot ... he obviously has AA or KK (anyone who limps then 4bets from here is pretty much turning their hole cards face up)... flop call is fine, but if u dont hit a jack instafold.

haha, yes, he was definitely THAT kind of player. Maybe this example will help get a clearer picture of this villian. He open-limps button and I complete the SB with 3c4c, BB checks. flop comes AK3, 2 clubs. I pot it, he min-raises me, I push, he calls with 6cTc and hits a higher flush.

Marshall,

Flop call with 2 outs when hero would then have < PSB behind on the turn?

Did you mean preflop call is fine?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the preflop call. Basically since the opponent has flipped the cards on the table and is likely to go broke on any flop, we call 50 cents hoping to win around $12 when we flop a jack.

The odds of flopping a jack are around 1 in 12, and even when you factor in set over set situations, you're still justified making the pre flop call from an implied odds standpoint.

odds are 1 in 8

Agreed all around then...although we're calling $1 more, not 50 cents

Are you still folding on a flop of 722? I wouldn't have the discipline to fold here and would probably go broke, but what's really THAT different about it?

I'd fold a 7 high flop if I'm folding a Q high flop. I can see him doing this with AK, but rarely is this AQ.

if u knew someone had AA would you still bet JJ on any flop that u didnt improve?

Nologo and Marshall, yep, that's what I'm talking about. I just have trouble making that fold.

Thanks.

For curious parties, I folded.
