I would think raising the flop would be good. Maybe $5-$6.

I play for pennies so don't take any of my suggestions to the bank.

Any merit in 3-betting preflop here?

If we just call preflop, it will be fairly difficult to take the pot away if we miss the flop. By 3-betting we gain when he folds preflop, and we also make cash when we flop overcards and c-bet to take it away.

As played, I think a decent sized flop raise for value is in order, though I have no plan if 3-bet on the flop.

Probably looking at a fold at that point.

Man, I hate these spots. I would probably raise the flop. If he calls, I'm checking behind most turns and calling a river bet. If he 3-bets, I'm done.

As played, I think this is a fold when he check-raises the turn. Against a TAG, I don't see anything you beat here. The three bet all in is just spew.

RAHZero,

So you raise the flop and fold to a 3 bet? Why do you suggest the fold?

first of all ... 23/18 is not tag at all ...

2nd ... 3bet pf ... just calling here is terrible

next ... RE-RAISE FLOP.

the reason this is necessary is because we dont know if hes holding 44, 77, a4 a7 ... and we need to find that out.

since you havent defined your hand at all theres no way to know if u r behind or ahead ... and is the reason your decision on the turn was a difficult one.

had you 3bet pf, and re-raised flop ... then he still pushed the action back at you, you would be in a much better situation to determine that your hand is no good. AND at the same time you would save yourself a lot of money.

REMEMBER: by raising more on earlier rounds you will always save yourself money on later ones.

I would RR pf alot here. BTW, 23/18 is semi-laggy, but I think still falls in the realm of taggish. (I was 23/19 last month, but have changed my style a bit, so now I'm like 21/15). Anyways...

I would probably play it the same. c/c-ing this flop is also an option, given PF action.

Grunch,

I re-raise this preflop pretty much allways. As played preflop I think your line is fine. Btw, very TAG would be more like 14/12 IMO.
