This hand has been on my mind for a day or two, and since i've decided I should start posting, this is a perfect chance for me to check if most of you play it the same.

Villain seemed pretty solid with 21/7 stats over 40 hands.

My pf raise to 4xbb is my standard line with any pp <88 or medium SCs, regardless of limpers. Should I raise to 4xbb +1/limper just as I do for bigger holdings? I'm on the verge of moving up, and i'm wondering when these details will start being noticed.

The flop is as dry as it gets, and his near min-raise is suggesting a good hand, he almost never has KK, so I am ahead of K8/K2 and behind 88. Push all day everyday?

Apologies if this is ultra-standard, but it took me some time to decide, and I was wondering if anyone finds a fold here

Sorry but since this is neither a beat nor a brag I will not post it in bbv.

As for your second comment, what possible hands does he have here? I am very nitty (21/14 6max), and suspect I was playing a similar style at the time. He will not CC with K2, and rarely with K8s.

Do you never ever fold a set at these limits?

Sets = the nuts.

Play them that way.

So many times I have 2nd guessed myself when I shouldnt have.

I think your range on villain's holding is too narrow. He can play this way with AK, AA, and possibly KQ too. Push this and lose to 88. And yes, I personally raise to $1.25 pf.

NEVER fold a flopped set on the flop... unless you have a monster read and are very deep... And by monster read i mean thousands of hands on the guy, and certain he never plays this way without the stone cold nuts, and even then its close.

I'd consider calling and CRAI the turn, just to make him feel that little bit more committed. After all its not like we're scared of him being on a draw on this, the mother of all dry boards /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Your line is perfectly fine, but IMO stack-a-donk (bet/call flop, c/r AI turn) might get a little more value of him if he's aggro.
