Here is a hand that came up at a table where i hadn't done anything in about 10 orbits of the blinds besides reraise a loose raiser and take down the pot preflop.

The villan who leads the flop for $5 just sat down at the table. I have no reads on him. Other player in the pot has been LAGing it up at 57.14/31.43 and this is the first time ive seen him limp into a pot...

Is this play a standard big flop raise here with no real reads on the villan who donks the flop?

Also:

Still a good play if you put the CO on the same spades you're drawing at, and it is later confirmed that he took a long a** time and mucked AJ-spades?

these types of situations are often where I am not sure how to proceed. Is it necessary to raise that much to get the fold equity we need in order to make this play +EV?

How many outs are you giving yourself here? There is the flush draw and 2 overcards that might give us the best hand but might not.

Can somebody explain the math to me here that shows this play as being +EV?

Sweet.
You gotta love that fold equity.
