I think they might be trying a bit harder now after the ban, when they had the halloween promotion and party was down I bitched at them because I was unable to get my black card so I got 100 boni right away and it seemed like they actually read my email something that has never happened to me before....

Cheers, kristoffer

Party is full of it. I was at a diner in vegas and party said there were bringing guys in to take care of VIPs. Me and my bros met this canada guy that party was bringing in to take care of us. Needless to say i just got off the phone with party and the canada guy is gone. I was staying with party because of him. and now they offer second rate so called VIP hosts to look after me. whatever! canada guy where have you gone? and if you end up with poker stars you know how to get a hold of us.

when they first started the VIP program they had personalized hosts for their players.

My host's name was Ophelia I believe. I talked to her on the phone.

Around Oct or Nov 2005 she offered me $3,000 or something for a certain number of raked-hands.
But I was told that I would get the exact proportional percentage of this if I fell short of the whole goal.
If I only played 74% of the hands I would get 74% of the reward.

This is what I did.
But by the end of the month Ophelia was gone and Party decided they were not fully responsible for the aspect of my deal where I would get the equivilent payment for partial-plan clearing.
So I was paid significantly less than what I was told I would get.

Note that if I had known that my deal was changed ahead of time I might have been able to crank out the hands still so as not to get shorted so badly. They just did it on their own and conciously did not stick with the terms that THEIR employee set out for me.

Nice VIP program.

Anyway, whatever your VIP host tells you you are getting be sure to take it with a grain of salt because after you complete the goal you don't know if things will have changed or if they will just decide on a whim to change their mind on the deal and deny your payment.

Note - I've offered a few observations and complaints about Party's service in the past.
But it's pretty easy to complain when they tell you that you will be getting paid X amount and then short you around $1,000 from that.

A Party VIP host is just some one you will personally tell you there is nothing they can do, and ENJOY!

I'm in! I think Elinor wants me too. Look at all the weird questions she asked me:
[ QUOTE ]
I will do my utmost to give you the personal assistance you so deserve....

What are your main hobbies or general interests?
* What are your traveling preferences; Airplane / train / etc.
* What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
* Is there any other information that you would like to update me about yourself?

[/ QUOTE ]

Any ideas what this is actually going to do for me? I have a feeling it's not much.

I used to play 5/10 SH lim, now 1/2 NL. I play 6-12k hands/month normally, though I'm over 20k in the last 30 days since my special lady is out of town.

For someone who took advantage of so many party promotions, earned free cruises and such you sure have always loved to bad mouth the freebies they gave you.

I was extremely grateful for the cruises I won via those awesome promos.

I defended Party through a lot of their C/S issues because of Mike O'Malley's willingness (at the time) to participate in the discussions and because I believed they were making a legitimate effort to do something good when they started their VIP program.

for awhile I always wished them well and publicly rooted for them to work through some of their problems.

I never bad-mouthed them when they locked-out Empire and the other skins (as opposed to a lot of 2+2'ers who completely freaked-out and CLAIMED they would never play there again).

But when my payment was $1k short of what I WAS TOLD it would be I was confused.
I contacted them and they said that they never told me that.

I forwarded them the e-mail where I WAS told that (and also mentioned that this was originally discussed over the phone with my VIP-rep...could I speak with her please??? Nobody told me she wasn't my rep anymore).

They just said that I still wouldn't get paid what THEIR OWN REPRESENTATIVE told me I would get paid.

they tell me I'm DEFINITELY going to get 5 cents per hand and I'm okay with going for that.
and then they end up paying me less than 3 cents per hand.

That's enough of a difference where I wouldn't have done the promo in the first place if I had known the TRUE payment.

I'm just sharing my experience with others because it sounds like they are going to something similar to their original VIP plan (personalized hosts for their players...possibly with player-specific goals) and I think people should be warned (if they didn't already know) that Party DOES have a history of not necessarily living up to their end of their promised deal.

I suspect that Party wouldn't be crazy enough to alienate their remaining VIP-volume players in such a way and that NOW when they say you will get something for X volume they will actually deliver.

but I never thought they would do a LOT of the crazy things that they have done in the past and I think people do need to not take it as 100% given that they will always come thgouh on such things.

Again, I was thrilled to have won both cruises as I did.
But they shorted me a not insignificant amount of money on that particular VIP deal in which both parties made an agreement ahead of time what the bonus-terms would be.

Later they gave me virtually impossible-to-clear A8-type VIP-incentives that really didn't pay very much while other Party players got some GREAT incentives.

No biggie. I just elected not to do them.

But if Party wants to behave like that they can't expect some of their players to not feel alienated and they certainly can't expect such players not to warn others to be careful there.

Yes capitalistic public companies are in the habit of giving away things with no intention of making money out of it.

Bob made a reasonable reply to my questioning him looking a gift horse in the mouth.

You however should wise up but growing up is probably out of the question.
