I have been losing much lately so I clearly need to post more hands!

This is a basic situation, but this kind of situations make me hate NL. UTG is unknown, he just sat to the table couple of hands before and has mostly folded.

Is my play good here, or should I always go all in with an overpair in 25NL? Would having AA here make a difference? Basically I only beat AJ and a (semi)bluff, and I think AJ raises preflop.

What do you do here?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool (http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php) from FlopTurnRiver.com (http://www.flopturnriver.com) (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($88.35)
UTG ($25.90)
Hero ($25)
Button ($15.05)
SB ($28.75)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.75.

Flop: ($2.35) J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
UTG bets $1.5, Hero raises to $6, UTG raises to $24.9, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $33.25

edit: And btw, I usually raise to $1.25 here, don't know why I didn't this time. Wasn't paying attention due to mega tilt scream from last hand in another table probably.

I'd raise more preflop (you already covered that).

I'd raise more on the flop, a full PSR is nearer $7.

And I'd call his allin since hardly anyone plays their big hands this fast. You'll see all kinds of weird stuff and heart draws way more often than you'll see a set etc.

I think you should fold this without a specific read on UTG.
You are not beating anything but AJ/draw/bluff here.

Small initial flop bet -> 3bet allin = donkey set line IMHO

I hardly ever see anyone play their sets fast at this level.

Grunch,

I would probably play it the same. With AA I would call.

Most common donkey set line = check/call flop or check/minraise I think. The initial flop bet is not that small, 2/3 of the pot. If it's a set then villain has played it pretty well.
