Having the nut flush draw, I figured that maybe I could try to take a stab at this if villian wasn't helped by the turn. Maybe checking and trying to peel one off would be better?

I'd check sometimes and bet sometimes. People so often put you on an ace that an ace is often a GOOD card for you.

If the player is passive but a calling station, then checking is better... see if you can get a free card.

You have nut flush draw, splat him.

if he's likes to bet big when checked to on scare cards, then I'd probably bet half pot. If he's passive I'd definitely check. I don't think I'd ever bet pot on the turn there with the nut flush draw, he's gunna push his flush if he has one. Your also running the risk of folding out stuff you beat.
