villan was pretty active and played a lot of hands...with no draws out there I played the flop slow intending to lead turn...Is slowing down to his reraise and reverting to check call okay or too passive?

Just bet 3/4 pot on the flop. Any K, QJ-JT, 87 will likely call, and you can extract more value on a safe turn. Don't give all 3 villains a cheap card to outdraw you. If they all fold to your flop bet, that's okay. Winning a small pot is better than losing a big one.

true if there was a draw out there...only reason I waited was the board was so dry
