Specifically looking at the smallish bet by Villain. Anything to see here?

Without reads that he plays weak after the flop this is indeed very standard.

1/2 stack has min. reraised you and committed more than 1/4 his chips.

A raise by you and you only fold worse hands.

A call and you have no clue as to the context of his hand and it is likely you're gonna face more pressure.

This is pretty clear fold to me.

if villain is 3betting preflop often, or more often than is likely to be AA/KK/QQ/JJ then I call and float his ass on the turn as I suspect his overcards just missed.

1/2 pot flop bets are suspicious in the "I've just read HOH1's section on Continuation bets" kind of fashion.

If I call and he bets the turn as well (and I don't spike a miraculous 5) I just fold. Most players who are weak here will giveup on the turn if called and never fire barrell 2 without a hand. Waiting to see if they bet the turn and if not betting 2/3 pot is cheaper (slightly) in the long run than raising the flop - especially if he's a shortstack and might feel pot committed.

However my line here is not standard - you line is standarrrrrrrrrd.

Floaty lines are more useful at $100NL where people are a little trickier generally speaking.

How do you float on the turn oop?

good point. well made.

In these spots if I'm feeling frisky I call and then stopngo the turn and shutdown if villain calls/raises.

Tho I use this line much less often than floating and need a read that villain is actually able to fold before I wheel it out.

Ok, I thought you might mean checking the turn hoping he checks behind and then leading the river, which I think would be pretty bad.

1. Villain has 66
2. You b/3-bet all in on turn
3. He puts you on 44
4. Profit
