Do I have to just give this up on the turn or should I fire another? Opponent is 48/12 and really likes playing hands postflop.

Wait for a better spot to stack him, and at the same time avoid spending any more money on this very marginal hand. He probably has nothing due to his overbet; use this to your advantage next time you flop a set against him.

Turn is about as blank as they come. Not a good spot to fire. Not a good opponent to fire against either.

I think you did well, and that villain within several hands would have overbet at a pot that you could scoop later. I know I'm enjoying making a fold like this when I can identify the people who will make the bets and then play my set, or whatever as if I had this same underpair...
