I have $25, villain covers.

Couple limpers to me in MP with T/images/graemlins/spade.gif8/images/graemlins/spade.gif. As the table has been playing pretty passive, I decide to call. *Normally I'd fold, but table conditions were such that I thought I could play a hand like this once in a while*

One more limper behind me, villain in SB completes.

READS: Only had 20 or so hands on villain but he was fairly loose preflop (35ish VPIP) and very passive postflop (.5ish AF)

Flop: 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Checked to me, I bet $1. Limper behind me calls, villain calls.

Turn: K/images/graemlins/spade.gif

Villain hesitates for a long time before checking, I bet $4, villain calls.

River: K/images/graemlins/heart.gif

Villain again pauses for a long time and bets $12.

As I am thinking about it, he types "Just fold." (This is what threw me off.)

Hero?

Against a loose player I dont think theres any harm checking the turn on that board, and let him lead out on the river imo. You said he was loose, had you seen him slow play any big hands before? This is just me, but i really dont pay any attention to what people type. Its such a big overbet on the river, I would call here.
