Villain here seems pretty TAG, a bit on the nitty side preflop, although he limp/calls with SCs.

I've seen villain take the stack-a-donk line with sets a few times, so I think his C/R on this dryish flop is a set like never, and his turn check confirms it. I figure this is either air picking off a cbet or a combo draw. How's my line with this read?

I like your c-bet, but then you should fold when he makes it $12. A call here is questionable, but don't continue w/ your C-bet. River is bad, if he calls 14 on turn, then he's calling 20 on river.

why the hell would u bet that turn? he just gave you a free card! I just dont know why you would turn this hand into a complete bluff though. The only hand villain is folding on the river is a club draw. :P

On the flop, given your read, I am probably going to push instead of calling the c/r. i think a push >>> call >>= fold.

Do You really think that he thinks that You hit a gutshot draw? In my opinion, this is a very weak bluff.

Best regards

I really don't know why I didn't just shove the flop. His whole line reeked of draw to me and I guess I wanted him to put more money in and then fold on the river.

Anyway as it turned out my read was right, but I just didn't know what to do with it. Villain tanked and then felted 10c8c on the river, which was the sort of hand I wanted to fold out. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Push flop. As played, check turn for free card. River ??

I don't think villain folds 10 8 clubs if you push flop

of course not. But TXc is one of the hands you really hope villain doesn't have here.

When villain C/R's flop, he's playing your cards as much as he's playing his own - he's calling your cbet fos. Thus we can expect his range to include a lot of worse hands than T8c and a flop push folds out a lot. What it doesn't fold, we still have draws against. Iss aggro, high variance.

Why did you call the flop - because you thought you had the odds, or to steal the pot? If the latter I think you push the turn to put the 1p hands to the test.

After he raises the flop, I push or fold. All you really have is an obvious draw, and you may not get paid when you hit.

As played, definitely check turn. You're getting a free card on a pure nut draw; take it.

River situation blows because you didn't check the turn. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

jonyy, villain may not fold to a flop push, but we have 12 outs twice; he doesn't have to fold often to make this +EV.
