There was a free $10 bet on the Super Bowl coin flip offered on the Sportsbook account tied to my Paradise Poker account. It's not much, but worth taking advantage of.

Go TAILS!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I did this earlier in the season when they had a free bet on the Browns rush yds vs the steelers. I lost but it was free so I was happy

After you log in, click on the super bowl tab. It should be in the left column under a blue highlighted heading (if it's being offered to everyone).

Below is the Terms and Conditions for this promotion.

Terms and Conditions :

One wager per player allowed
If there is a tie, all wagers shall be refunded, no winnings will be credited.
Players must play for action. If a player does not play, all wagers shall be refunded.
Wagering on both sides of this free bet offer will result in non payment of both wagers and a $5 penalty charge.
Free bets are open to all active players, who make a minimum of 5 sports wagers per week or total action of $50 in poker, casino or horses per week

The part that gets me is the last portion. Free bets are opend to "active players" who make 5 sportsbets a week, or $50 in poker or casino wagers.

Do they actually enforce this?

I have the same question. I've given Paradise plenty of play over the years, but I haven't played there since December and I didn't really plan on playing off any of the reload for a few weeks.

Anybody know if this causes a problem?

Update: I spoke to a support person at the sportsbook. He/she said that they only block people who come there just to make the free bet, and that somebody like me (who has a playing history with Paradise but hasn't been there recently) is fine.

Does anyone know if this counts towards the $25 Match Play bonus they're doing as well?

when I was playing the other night I got a popup saying I had qualified for some free coin toss bet but I was busy at the time and didnt pay much attention. anyway I emailed paradise support to confirm and they quickly replied to say I had met the $50 total action req. Note that you do have to transfer $10 into sportsbet to make the free bet.........go tails /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes they actually did a match play as well on my bet. So even if I lose, I bet $5 of my money and get $10 back, so +$5 50% of the time. If I win, I bet $5 of my money and get $20 back, so +$15 50% of the time. +$10 EV if I figured that right.

I'm totally new to sportsbetting, so let me see if I got this right.

I transferred $10 to the sportsbook. They gave me a $10 match so I started with a balance of $20 total.

I placed a $10 no-lose bet on "Heads" and a $10 bet on the Steelers (-4). So I've wagered my transfer *and* the bonus money.

Worst case scenario is that I lose both bets and get my $10 back from the coin-toss.

Best case scenario is that I win both bets, in which case I get $20 from the coin toss and $19.09 from the Steelers for a withdraw-able balance of $39.09, a $29.09 profit.

Is that right? It seems like an awful lot of free money with no downside risk.

Yeah apparently this was only for long time players of Paradise to reward them. But I could care less if it they made a mistake in offering this to me. /images/graemlins/grin.gif I like the match play since it seems to make some slightly -EV bets into +EV bets.

I normally play poker too. So assuming the odds are 1-1 for the $10 to win bet (only $5 is your money):
you lose $5 - 50% of the time, for -$2.50
you win $14.09 - 50% of the time, for +$7.05
For a +$4.55 EV

It sounds like more when you look at the best scenario, but in reality you will make $14.55 on these 2 bets in the long run.
