Table was kind of tighter than the $2 game I have been playing. MP1 was a loose player who would call flop bets then fold later in the hand. I don't think my hand is the greatest and I usually don't raise this but in this spot I hoped to get heads up vs my loose opponent.

When he bet I figured he would call my raise so I made it bigger than normal. I think this is where I messed up. I had planned on raising $1 but instead tried to get villian to play a big pot with me.

opponent has a weak ace here a lot i think. I like hesitating and calling. I like just calling a turn bet here too unless the turn is a 10 or K. u have ur opponent drawing to 2 outs and his hand really cant stand a raise unless he thinks you like to bluff a lot.

I like calling until the river, then raising a bit. if he checks turn or river, i like half pot bet.

Your post title says it all...."vs Loose Player." Build the pot if you think villain is loose, very standard. Your raise is a little bit exaggerated though. ~$1.4 total is good like you had planned.
