I would check that turn hoping for a 3 or straight

is betting the turn that bad or is everyone saying that because he check-raised me? I had just sat down so I didn't have any reads but what does villian check/call with on the flop?
Over cards or a draw are the majority of his hands or am I way off on this? I was betting because I thought I had the best hand and if I didn't had outs.
thanks

Villian will call with anything when you are in a blind battle and let him limp. Raise preflop to $2 and this hand is a whole lot easier to comprehend. I honestly have no clue what he has. There are 3 overs on the board + FD on the turn. Did you have any reads? He really seems to like that spade on the river and played for stacks. Sorry to be critical, but this hand is very very ugly.

it's ugly unless I won....you are being results oriented based on an assumption that I'm posting because I lost.

Can't he have a busted heart flush trying to represent a 3?
Can't he have a set or two pair?

I'm trying to figure out why I should check the turn, ANY hand is going to call my flop bet.

as played what do you do on the river? lead out and fold to his all in (call 18 to win 58) or just check behind on the river?

I usually raise PF but I didn't and I'm interested in this specific instance.

Thanks for the comments.

To be clear I'm interested in why I should have played the turn and or river differently, not two word posts telling me what to do differently.

AS PLAYED you can't fold the river. Turn is a good spot to check as they said. Without raising preflop you have no clue as to what villain holds. I probably bet $8-10 on the river as played.

1st) Raise to $2 preflop
2nd) If called PF by villain, Flop ($4 pot) bet $3 or 3.50 and then see what happens

From there I can't help you b/c I don't know what villain would have done if you had raised preflop.

You said that "you are being results oriented based on an assumption that I'm posting because I lost." Did I say you lost, no....I said it was ugly (meaning every street with the exception of the flop bet were misplayed).
