Nothing helps to build understanding of poker quite like trying a new game. Tonight, I'm starting a 2+2 table at Full Tilt for Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Low Eight-or-Better.

This game is a bit complicated and lots of fun. I'll briefly explain how it works:

You are dealt four cards in the hole. After a betting round, a flop of three community cards are dealt. Another betting round, then one turn card, then another betting round then the river card, then a final betting round followed by a showdown.

The game is a split game, with half the pot going to the highest hand (measured in a traditional way) and half the pot going to the low hand IF the low hand is not higher than an eight-high. Note that straights and flushes do not adversely affect your low hand, and aces are low, so the best possible low hand is A2345. The worst possible low hand is 45678; any hand worse than this does not qualify as low anymore. If nobody has a low hand, the high hand takes the entire pot.

One last twist: you must use EXACTLY two of your hole cards and EXACTLY three of the community cards to make your hands (you can use different cards to make each hand).

The game is going to be a 0.05/0.10 pot-limit table (Omaha plays best in a pot-limit format). The table name is "Washburn." I hope to see you there!

Never have I seen so many sets and trips go down in burning balls of flames. I sure am glad I got that out of the way at a $10 table!

MAN! I lost the SnG to Terezza. It was such massive pwnage. I just started missing with all my hands. It sucked. I got him all the down to nothing and BAM a river 3 gives him the wheel and everything turns around.

I'm not sure a set of anything ever held in the time I was there (AidsEpidemic). Set over set over wheel wrap was a sick hand. PLO8 is nutty.

My bad on not showing hands in uncalled pots...I guess I didn't catch on until Machine mentioned it to me.

-3 BIs, but still a fun time.
