On October 13th, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was signed into law. The main reason, according to politicians, is that gambling can be addictive, causing people to lose their money, their house, and then their family. I know no one who has lost their family due to online gambling. I, however, know many workaholics whom HAVE lost their house and family. Workaholics are away from home many hours, leaving children without parents to raise them. Business trips lead to temptations and affairs, straining marriages across our nation. All of my workaholic friends have ended up divorced, losing their house and family.
I realize over 95% of people are able to work responsibly, but this simply does not matter. We must pass the Unlawful Work Act and ban this potentially ruinous behavior immediately! Our children’s future depends on it.
