NL25 (FR): AKo - nice flop, ugly turn and river

No real reads. I've been at the table for 2-3 orbits. I've only seen villain get to showdown once - (limped pot, bet TPWK + gutshot on flop from BB, checked A turn, bet out on rivered straight). He's won 2 other very small (limped) pots without a showdown. At the time I had the impression that he was fairly tight, a bit limpy preflop but reasonably competent post-flop - nothing special, but not an obvious donk.

Stats firmed up to 17/6/1.5 over 139 hands, so my early read seems OK.

After the turn bet got called I was planning to check behind on most rivers, and definitely on this one. Folding to his push feels a bit weak getting 3.5:1, but I can't see a hand I beat here. Crying call, or fold?

Thanks. I did fold and it's been bothering me so this is comforting. I'm trying to stack off less in situations like this and I felt it was a good spot to be conservative given what limited read I had at the time.

If I was OOP and checked this river, I guess it's a call against most villains without a super strong read that they're both tight (wouldn't bet, or still be in with, AQ here) and non-bluffy (wouldn't bet less than a flush/FH/maybe trips)?

I agree with the fold. It takes a special kind of moron to call down the whole way and then push with nothing on the river. There aren't any busted draws that he could be chasing that would warrant an all-in bluff like that. If you don't have a read on him I think you gotta give him credit for a hand here.
