Need your suggestions

Okay so this might sound corny but my boyfriend loves playing poker and is a regular at pokerstars and full tilt. I just got him two books on poker for V-day. I got him a book about how to win at internet poker and another about winning low limit holdem. basically if he isn't with me he is playing or reading about poker... do you think i did the right thing by getting him the books?

I think he'll love them and find it thoughtful of you. (I don't know him, but that's how I felt when my girlfriend picked me up a couple.) I'm guessing the the books you're referring to are Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Jones and Internet Texas Hold'em by Hilger? If so they are two denect books that will help him out in many areas. However, their usefulness depends greatly on what exactly he plays. Hold'em, limit or no-limit, tournaments, 7-stud, what stakes, etc. Having this information and advising this forum of it could lead to furture purchases being of more value to him. But he'll love them regardless.
