OMG, it's like you're actually playing POKER!

Why is it that so very many cardrooms around the country like capping their NL tables at 20-50 big blinds? Are they so petrified about losing their fish customers that they're willing to distort the game to that extent just to keep them from going bankrupt in a heartbeat? It's as though Las Vegas is the only city in the country that knows how to spread a true no-limit game: the $1/$3 NL game at the Wynn is uncapped, and you'll apparently have people sit down with $25k or more at the table.

Now THAT'S no-limit, my friends. $1/$2 with a $40 buyin isn't no-limit; it's a donkament.

Suffice it to say that I'm DEEPLY jealous -- in my state, all no-limit tables are illegal, and the best we have is a $5-$150 spread limit game with blinds of $3 and $5 and a maximum buyin of $350 (which is a totally BS game, by the way).

Suffice it to say that I'm DEEPLY jealous -- in my state, all no-limit tables are illegal, and the best we have is a $5-$150 spread limit game with blinds of $3 and $5 and a maximum buyin of $350 (which is a totally BS game, by the way).

yeah thats ouch pokey, very ouch. but ive been buying in for 50BBs for 3 years now except in AC where i can actually play poker its great. since buying in for 100 and its live ou have to come in for 12-20 PF and with 4 callers an AI isnt pushing anyone off a flush draw. it will be crazy to acually see how i can do playing real poker from the minute i buy in. i cant wait till tomorrow morning /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great news. I played there a few times this summer when I was doing my internship in CT. I'm glad they've upped the max buyin. The 100 max is what kept me from going all the time. Hopefully, I'll get the job in CT and play there a lot.

Do you know if all the other NL games are 150 BB max? 750 for 2/5 and 3000 for 5/10?

I was there the first day completely by accident. It was sweet.

They didn't even tell the dealers. We had to educate them as they came around.

actually the 5/10 has a 2k cap, and I'm pretty sure it's 500 min.
