You let him take control of the hand. Bet the flop and find out what happens. Re-evaluate from there.

Would a pot size flop bet be about right or too much?

The check on the flop was horrible. I don`t know why I checked, cause I usualy bet about 90% of the flops when I raised preflop. I had some realy bad beads with AA and KK last night, must have gotten to my head. He eventualy showed me his hand after I folded (it was 88). Considering that he limped UTG and then called my raise preflop, I think I had to call this down. I can`t realy but him on something like 67 or 78 here. 88-AA or AdQd is more likely here or maybe AK. If he has 44 or KK I`m just beat.

Comments appreciated.

I would bet the pot on the flop, now you can't call the river because of the flush. trips, hell maybe even a full house.

I'm pretty sure you are ahead of him at the flop though, 8xbb and still holding a 7 seems unlikely (not impossible offcourse), Maybe he has 77 which I wouldn't want to see the flop with for 8xbb but ok, at least you got beaten by quads then :P

Well if he calls with 44, that seems strange but ok, but kk/ak is offcourse possible, but then you still needed to raise big on the flop, since you were ahead. Offcourse you would have lost a allin, but it wouldn't have been a bad raise /images/graemlins/wink.gif

yeah, I think I got intimidated about the fact that there where 3 players in the pot beside me, but I definetly had to bet the flop and see where I am at.
Ironicaly on the turn I asked him on the chat if he shows if I fold AA, he said sure. I further said he might have a middle pocket pair, and then he shoved 6$ in on the river ... I chickened out I guess.

preflop id raise more to drive out the rag hands, prolly around .50-.60. Lead the flop to see where you stand you gain nothing by checking. As played i would raise the flop and push the turn. Probably see a lower PP a lot of the time here.
