Villain is unknown, has been in quite few pots, raised pf in several, but haven't seen him do anything funky so far since it's only my second orbit.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter (http://www.pokerhand.org)

UTG ($91.45)
MP ($83.85)
Hero ($52)
SB ($36.50)
BB ($48)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $1.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $6</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP calls $4.50.

Flop: ($12.75) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $9</font>, MP calls $9.

Turn: ($30.75) T/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP bets $3</font>, Hero ???

What should I think of this? I'm probably beat right? But by how much? What's my line against unknown? How would it change if i had a read on my opponent?

And fold most rivers if he bets again.

zomg what pot odds, I call and hope he has Ax/images/graemlins/club.gif or some other random stuff. He should have it often enough.

I feel dirty calling bets that small, but you have to do it.

I see these blocking bets a lot at 50nl, usually with TP weak kicker (QJ, JT) or setting the price for his draw (AKs). Here I think you're most always beat though, but the price is cheap. I'd try and get to showdown as cheap as possible and take notes.

Standard pf3b against a near unknown?

I think its standard in position with 99+, AK.

I don't always reraise 99 in position against near unknown, but I sometimes do. I think it certainly can be +EV play, but I'm not sure whether calling for set value (or maybe overpair) has higher expectation against an average donk.

I managed to hold my raising fingah, and called. He showed QJo and took down the pawt. Got some notes and some money of him later /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I think you are spot on. Raising will do nothing, they usually call.

OP, it sucks but I guess you have to call.
