why did you bet $5 on the turn? you didn't even bet 1/4 of the pot. I usually call this and see a big draw.

your bet sizes are really horrible.

raise more preflop.

bet more on the flop.

and c/r all in on the turn.

Ok thanks, although Im sure it would have made much difference in this case - the villian was playing very erratically.

I know the results dont matter, but it is good therapy for me!!

Flop bet is awful. Bet the pot. Call all-in.

If you had bet more on the flop (or preflop or the turn or re-raised his raise on the flop) you might have got him to fold and never would have given him the chance to draw out on you.

Get near pot bets on but flop and turn. Would make this hand much easier to play. Remeber, mistakes early make decisions harder later.

Preflop raise should be to around 4xBB + 1 per limper. You have 3 limpers here - so the raise needs to be around $3.50 (strictly, $3 as you already have £0.25 in the pot, but bump it up as you do not want 3-4 callers).

Lead for at least 80% of the pot on the flop. Lead full pot on the turn if anyone's still with you. This does 2 things. It denies UTG the implied odds to hit his draw, because this puts him AI. It also doesn't make it look like you have no hand - these bet sizes are basically begging him to come over the top with any kind of hand because it looks like he has a lot of fold equity against you.

PS: How is villain raising more hands than he plays?

Unless you've got $1000 to burn learning basic NLHE, I would move down a level or two. That turn bet speaks volumes.
