I'm doing a problem and it comes out to this. sqrt 16-8

It simplifies to 2 sqrt 2


How was that broken down? What about this? sqrt 48

Steps would be appreciated.

Assuming you are serious sqrt (16-8) = sqrt 8
= sqrt 4 x sqrt 2
= 2 x sqrt 2
