Democratic Senate candidate Jack Carter has come out against a ban on internet gambling. In his recent debate against Republican incumbent John Ensign, Carter says that he would have voted against the Port Security bill becuase of the online gambling legislation attached to it. Ensign voted for the port security bill, but appeared to be genuinely non-committed about internet gambling legislation.

According to Rasmussen Reports (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2006/State%20Polls/September%202006/NevadaGovernorSenate.htm) Ensign had a 9 point lead over Carter when they last polled in September.

A video of the entire debate can be found: here (http://www.lasvegasnow.com/global/story.asp?s=5542476) .

This is pretty easy to say since there was no vote. Are you implying that Son of Carter would put a hold/filibuster the port security bill because of the UIGEA ??

Hogwash.

I'm implying what I wrote, which is that Carter stated in the debate that he would have voted against the Port Security Bill because the UIGEA was attached to it. If anyone is making implications, you are the one who is doing it. Contrary to your assertion, there was a vote on the Port Security Bill, a rather well known vote around these parts because this was the vote that caused the UIGEA to pass the Senate.

I suppose it's possible that Jack Carter is so devious that if elected he plans to do the exact opposite of what he said he'd do in his campaign. I think most realize, however, that to promote such an idea is, well... hogwash.
