Just got this email from Pacific. It looks like anybody can take the survey just by going to the site. (Is 888 thinking about changing their minds?)

A CHANCE TO SPEAK YOUR MIND

An invitation for you to give your views and influence the future of online gambling

How often have you wanted to tell the top management of 888.com how we should be running things to achieve better customer satisfaction? Those times when you might want to point out areas where improvements could be made; new ideas you think might work well or general observations on our service?

Well - here's your chance!

888.com as an accredited 'Play It Safe' seal holder and founder member of the non-profit, player protection body eCOGRA is assisting that body with its online gambling player survey, and we would like to invite you to participate and make your views - critical or otherwise - known.

We believe that this survey can generate significant benefits and improvements for both players and the industry, because it is a detailed study of what the players think and would like to see in the future, and the sheer size of the target sample at 20 000 respondents will give a high degree of accuracy.

This ambitious project aims to gather the opinions of the largest number of online players ever to create the biggest and most comprehensive survey yet attempted. Millions of poker and casino players worldwide will be offered the opportunity to have their say to help the industry understand and more closely integrate with the behaviour and attitudes of online gamblers to everything from responsible gambling to new games and promotional offers.

Comprising sections covering areas such as poker and casino action, player protection, responsible gambling, games and even luck, the results of this worldwide study are expected to provide a better understanding of players’ needs and concerns; information that is vital to enable us to offer you a rewarding, entertaining and safe online gambling experience.

Devised by the leading gambling research team from Nottingham Trent University, the survey will be supplemented by qualitative focus groups in six of the industry’s major markets - US, UK, Japan, Canada, Germany and Sweden – due to take place from October.

The resulting ‘eCOGRA Global Online Gambler Report’ is due to be launched to the public in January 2007.

Taking part in this survey is as easy as clicking over to www.ecogra.org/playerssurvey (http://www.ecogra.org/playerssurvey) and we would strongly urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to voice your opinions and help us improve the service to you - the player.

We greatly appreciate your time and hope to hear your valued feedback.

I just took the survey. It really doesn't have much to do with the legislation.

I took it too. Seems like a waste of time though since it's we can no longer play there.

Pretty odd how these poker sites waited until the law passed to try to get their act together. For instance, this survey asking what the players think of their site, Party signing people up for free to the PPA, Party letting you fill out a form to send your Senator etc. A day late and a dollar short.

I just took the survey too. In every spot where I could write in my own answer, I wrote, "Work to get it legalized in the U.S.--the biggest marketplace for online gambling!"
