I play 10NL Hold em on Stars. I do a lot of continuation betting, but rarely do stone cold bluffs, however did it on this hand. Would like your opinions. Was only at the table for about 10 hands but have played a little with the guy before his stats 37/4/0.71. I usualy 20/10/2 depends on table. Also, I only play 6-handed tables.

thx for the reply, I know that usualy bluffing at these stakes is -EV I very rarely do it. I called the flop here to bluff him on 4th street.

your going to need to bet more when bluffing too.

unless your vs a 2p2er and then you can min raise.

You mean bet more on 4th street ? I actualy wanted to make him think I want him in the hand. Is this wrong ? Since I`m pretending to have a Jack.

this is too deep of a thought process at NL 10. no villian is going to say, "gee, that looks like a small bet, i bet he wants me to call. But OHHHHH NOEES! im to crafty for that. I fold."

they think like this, " only 1.50 to call? [censored] its only money."

I often size my bets in order to pretend to have a certain hand and this has worked out fine so far. At least when I make continuation bets or semibluffs. For example, if I raise preflop with As Kh and flop comes something like 7s 8s Qs, I try to bet 3/4 of the pot or a little more to pretend to protect against the flush and possible straight draws, but yet wanting him to call with bad odds.

Maybe I`m trying to be to tricky and should stick more to what has worked for me. But you have to make mistakes to learn. I`m a winner so far at 0.01/0.02 and 0.2/0.5 at Stars and hope to reach 500$ soon to start taking shoots at 25NL.

Well I aggree that bluffing is definetly not good at this level, or at least I have to pick my oponents to bluff better. This guy was a calling station, since he called me down with AK unimproved.

Appreciate all the replies.
