I really do not know what to do here. Should we be scared of the king on the river? If a random card like a 5 or something hits, are we insta-calling?

I am going to go with fold river.

I think you have to fold the turn from the high level of aggresion your opponent is showing.

As played I fold the river. I can't imagine anything you're ahead of other than a busted draw that decided to 3 barrel it. I suppose it could be KT... but that seems very unlikely to me. I don't think KT would bet the turn. Fold, but I am still a bit confused. A flopped set or straight would be my guess.

Shouldnt you find a reraise here somewhere to help maximize your value when ahead, or save you some money on later streets?

Reraise the flop, evaluate the turn action since you have position. Reraising the flop, and folding to turn aggression against a person with no reads, would save you money in the hand.

As played, you cant think 1 pair is ahead, and fold to the river bet.

It might help maximize value when ahead, but I think you're wrong on the second front. Am I going to reraise the flop less than the $10 I paid on the turn? I don't really think so. Saving money on later streets isn't that great a thing if it's costing me even more on the flop.

My plan with the turn call was to call if the board paired (counterfeiting two pair) or if the river bet was very modest.

This smells like KJ to me more then anything. Calling the river can't be right. I like how you played the rest of the hand. No need to reraise the flop, since you give hands you beat the chance to escape, and you are commiting yourself with one pair on a dangerous board.
